Alex Pedersen (CIC) – President – Commercial Lines

Alex graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Degree in Finance. While in college he worked for Primerica, a subsidiary of Citigroup, where he obtained his Life License as well as his Series 6 and 63 licenses. After college he worked for his father at PDCM Insurance in Iowa where he realized that the Property and Casualty side of the business better suited him. In 2003, Alex moved to Denver and began working for Prince/Empson Insurance and in 2007 bought the Day-Larsen Insurance Agency, Inc. from John Larsen. As a sports enthusiast without loyalties to any other pro teams, Alex has quickly become a big Broncos, Nuggets, Aves and Rockies fan.  When Alex gets time away from the office it usually involves skiing or golfing depending on the weather.

Sue Mitchell – Commercial Lines Account Manager

Sue started her career with Travelers Insurance company rating personal auto policies. She worked at Travelers for 4 1/2 years. She then started working for independent insurance agencies working as a personal lines customer service representative for 16 years. Sue was also the personal lines manager for one of the largest agencies in the state of Colorado. Sue then had the opportunity to get into the commercial aspect and became a producer as well as customer service representative. For the last 18+ years she has been the office manager, producer and customer service representative for Day-Larsen Insurance Agency, now Day Larsen Pedersen Insurance Agency.

Sara Nash (CIC) (CISR) – Commercial Lines Account Manager

Sara's insurance career began in Dubois , PA in 1988 when she was hired as a receptionist by a State Farm agent. After becoming licensed in property/casualty and life/health, Sara was office manager until 1992 when that agent retired. She relocated to Colorado in 2001 for a position as a personal lines CSR agent with a large insurance brokerage. In 2002, Sara was promoted to the small commercial section of the company. She came to DLP in June of 2006 as a commercial lines account manager to work with all sizes of commercial accounts. Currently, Sara holds the designation of CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) and is working on obtaining her CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designation.

Marxy Miller (CISR) – Commercial & Personal Lines

Marxy’s insurance career started as the receptionist at Day Larsen Insurance in 2000. After obtaining her license in 2001 she became a Commercial Customer Service Rep. / Producer. In 2004 Marxy left Day Larsen to further her knowledge of the insurance industry, which included a job as the Denver Branch Office Manager for Flood & Peterson Insurance as well as a Commercial Lines Account Manager at ISU in Downtown Denver . In January 2010 she has returned to Day Larsen Pedersen Insurance were she works with both personal lines and commercial lines customers. Marxy spends most of her time outside of work with her 2 daughters supporting them in their activities. Marxy currently holds her CISR designation and is working on her CIC designation. In addition she is going back to school to finish her Bachelor degree in business this fall.

Kathy Carnahan (CISR) – Personal Lines & Church Program Director

Kathy is currently a personal lines agent and account manager for our agency's church group affiliated program polices. She also handles the accounting and human resources for the agency. Kathy's goal is to treat your needs as if they were her own. Her first step into the insurance industry began in 1978 with Sooner Life Insurance. Twenty years later she took steps back into the industry at Day-Larsen Insurance Agency, Inc. Mentoring from Sue Mitchell and John Larsen lead to getting her license in 2000 and Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designations in 2002.

Frieda Fox (CIC) – Senior Broker

Frieda has been a licensed agent in the State of Colorado since 1993. Frieda is very versatile in the insurance industry writing personal home & auto, individual & group health, life products and small commercial. While very experienced and knowledgeable in all these lines of business, the Life products are where Frieda has gained national recognition. While working for Carr Insurance, Frieda rank #1 in life sales with Auto-Owners in both 2003 and 2004 for Colorado, ranking 24th in the nation in 2004. She continues to be a top life producer in the State of Colorado. Frieda received her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 2004. She began working for Day Larsen Pedersen in the summer of 2007.

Adrian Neacsu – Senior Broker

Adrian has been in the insurance business as a licensed producer and agency owner for over 4 years in Colorado. Adrian is a tri-lingual speaker, a native of Romania speaking Romanian, Spanish, and English. Adrian has been essential in creating the Hispanic Construction division of DLP Insurance. Since coming on board DLP Insurance, Adrian has been working diligently involving himself in many Hispanic associations including the Western Contractors Association as well as many other non Hispanic groups. Adrian has his P&C license as well as his Life & Health Insurance license. While focusing on business insurance, Adrian is quick to assist in protecting your personal assets as well. In his spare time, Adrian enjoys spending time with his 2 daughters and ballroom dancing with his wife. He enjoys tennis, skiing and is an avid soccer fan.

Scott Hughes – Senior Broker

Scott graduated from the University of Iowa in 2004 with a degree in Marketing and Management. After moving to Denver in 2005 he worked for Wells Fargo for 4 years before making the switch to the insurance industry in 2009. Scott has been with Day Larsen Pedersen since the summer of 2009 where he focuses on writing personal home & auto, individual & group health, life products and small commercial. While he is still an avid Iowa Hawkeye sports fan, Scott has also been spotted at many Rapids, Rockies, Broncos and Nuggets games since moving to Denver. He also enjoys the winter ski season and extended golf season that the milder climate of the Front Range provides.
